On Thursday, November 17th Peachstate Audio celebrated their 40th Birthday with a night of food, live music, and plenty of time with old colleagues and friends. The event kicked off with a catered dinner by Sugar Hill Smokehouse, giving everyone time to catch up over some delicious BBQ and birthday cake.
While guests visited, they were encouraged to look at old photos of Peachstate's 40 years in the business. Also at the table was records of customers from the past, including Hank Williams Jr. and R.E.M. Some of the artists who produced those records from past decades are still customers of Peachstate!
Guests could look at pictures from the early days of the business up to current times, like this picture of employees from 1985 vs. 2016. Both of these pictures were taken in front of our office in Sugar Hill. Many of the folks from the 1985 picture still work in the Audio/Visual/Lighting business! After everyone enjoyed dinner and had time to visit the party moved to the showroom for some live music. Rodney Holman, Peachstate Audio employee, opened the night up with his band. They performed a medley of songs from the 70s, 80s, 90s, and 2000s to represent the spanning history of Peachstate.
After Rodney and his band took the stage longtime customer Dave Rode of Topper closed the show out. The other half of the duo, Pete George, is known as the "Man of a Thousand Voices" and he put a few of them on display at the party. The duo sang everything from the Willie Nelson/Elvis duet "Always On My Mind" to Journey's "Don't Stop Believing" to "I Am a Man of Constant Sorrow" by the Soggy Bottom Boys. Check out a few of the performances below!
