Peachstate Audio Fall 2019 Seminars Recap

A huge part of our marketing efforts are focused on manufacturer-led seminars throughout the year. We have these events roughly once a month in the Spring and Fall and offer educational topics or training sessions that are relevant and timely. Whether it be something customers have requested, a new product launch, or a line of products that are in high-demand, we want to make sure we bring the absolute best information and products to our customers.

This fall has proven to be our most successful stretch of seminars ever based on attendance and audience feedback. First up, in August we hosted a D-Live training session with Allen & Heath. Next, we welcomed Yamaha in September for a condensed version of their Audioversity program. In October we had CHAUVET come to present "How To Light A Stage" and then finished the month off with RCF to help them celebrate their 70th Anniversary. Read on for a mini-recap of each event!

ALLEN & HEATH

First up is Allen & Heath. Kevin Madden returned to Peachstate to give a mini D-Live certification session for those in attendance. Madden started the session with the history of Allen & Heath and an overview of the family of D-Live products.

After a break for lunch, the attendees returned and dove into the training session with some hands-on time with the D-Live 3500 consoles as well as a D-Live 5000 console. During the training Madden circled the room, make sure that everyone was on the same page.

YAMAHA

Peachstate Audio's Rivage Console Training Setup
Next on our fall seminar schedule was Yamaha Professional Audio, who brought a condensed version of their Audioversity training. While the Audioversity training is usually 2 days, this condensed version gave attendees a chance to learn about the Rivage consoles and get top tier training in one day. North America Training Manager Chip Allen brought a PM10 and two PM7 Rivage consoles and the University of North Georgia brought their own recently purchased PM7 Console so they could follow along. The morning gave an overview of the Rivage capabilities and unique features.

After the room broke for lunch, it was time to turn the consoles on and take them for a spin! Despite a very full room everyone had time to work on the Rivage consoles. It was such a unique opportunity to have four Rivage consoles all in one room! The University of North Georgia brought their entire system along with the faculty advisor and seven of the students that would be working with the Theatre for the semester. The students were anxious to get hands-on time with this top-tier digital console and with Chip Allen's help they got a head start on their education!

CHAUVET

In October, CHAUVET put on a seminar that was focused on "How To Light A Stage." Presenter Michael Graham was able to start off with some basic lighting fundamentals, while moving on to more specific technical directions. You can see a part of his presentation in a video from our YouTube page below.

After some more real world examples in stage lighting, the group broke for lunch. After lunch there was open house time for attendees to ask questions and see CHAUVET Professional and CHAUVET DJ products up close.

RCF

Rounding out our fall seminars was Italian company RCF Audio. 2019 marks 70 years for the company, so we helped them celebrate with an event showcasing some of their newest loudspeakers, including line arrays. To start off our event Retail Sales Manager Justin Brock showcased Two-Way Speakers, including the HDM 45-A and NX 45-A (both accompanied by the 708-AS Subwoofer). Brock also demonstrated the EVOXJ8 and JMIX8 Portable Column Line Array Speakers, a particularly hot item for RCF and Peachstate in the last year.

The group then moved outside to listen to the HDL-6A and HDL-30A Line Arrays ground stacked on a 9004-AS subwoofer. Tarik Solangi, the VP of Marketing & Sales for RCF USA was on hand to give the presentation.

Tarik was also able to talk about the recent installation of the HDL-30A line arrays in Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta. This installation is specifically for the Supporter's Section for the Capo Cheerleader and was installed just in time for the Atlanta United playoffs.

After the loudspeaker demo in the morning, it was time to break for lunch where customers could enjoy a themed Italian lunch (a departure from our typical BBQ) and birthday cake for 70 years!

Though it wasn't technically a part of our Fall seminar schedule, we'd be remiss to not mention our retirement celebration for long-time Office Manager Dana Hunter. After 37 years with us, Dana is taking a well-deserved retirement!

We'd like to thank everyone, customers and manufacturers, who made our fall events such a success! We'll be announcing our upcoming Spring seminars on our website in the coming months.

Georgia Film Industry and the Freedom of Digital Wireless

Filming is big business, and few places showcase that more than the state of Georgia. "The Hollywood of the South" or "Yallywood" are names attributed to a massive industry that had an economic impact on the state of $9.5 Billion in 2017 alone ( source ).  The industry in Georgia was boosted substantially by tax incentives introduced in 2002 and bolstered again in 2008. While we hear about the flashy movie stars and studio executives flying into the Atlanta Airport and spending money, we don't often think of the economic impact that benefits established local companies. A great example of this is longtime Peachstate customer In Concert Productions.  In Concert Productions (ICP) is a production leader in the Atlanta, GA and Southeastern US markets. Founded in 1977, ICP’s core business has always been as a full-service audio company, serving Fortune 500 corporate, theatrical, and other industrial and special events. Film and TV credits include “Hollywood South” pr

An Outdoor Christmas Kickoff

There's no denying that celebrating for Christmas this year is a little different. While we can't gather together in large crowds inside, many organizations and local governments are finding ways to create Christmas cheer in a COVID safe manner. Peachstate Audio customer Fusion Light & Sound was able to put together a festive atmosphere in Jacksonville at Seawalk Pavilion for Deck The Chairs , a nonprofit that focuses on fostering art and community in the area.  Deck The Chairs in Jacksonville, FL using dbTechnologies IG4T and JBL Control 28-1 for sound With sleek dbTechnologies  INGENIA IG4T  Active Column Arrays paired with VIO S118R Subwoofers on the stage, they were able to achieve far throwing sound in an unobtrusive manner from the stage. Hidden behind simple pop-up banners, it's hard to believe such strong sound could be achieved outdoors from such a small package.  Can you spot the db Technologies IG4T Columns?
