From the Archives: MUS!C Group Seminar Recap

On Wednesday, September 20th we hosted MUS!C Group at our facility in Sugar Hill, GA. While the MUS!C Group family has a large portfolio of brands, the event focused on Turbosound loudspeakers, MIDAS consoles, Klark-Teknik processors, and Lab.gruppen amplifiers.

Lloyd Kinkade, Senior Sales Manager for East Coast, kicked off the event with Turbosound Loudspeakers. First up was the iQ12 Loudspeaker, a powered two-way loudspeaker ideally suited for a wide range of portable and fixed installation, music and speech sound reinforcement applications paired with the NuQ115b Subwoofer. Next up was one of the newer models from the Euro Series, the Berlin TBV123 paired with the iQ18b Subwoofer. The Berlin is an arrayable 2 way 12" constant curvature loudspeaker with Dendritic Waveguide, which offer class-leading pattern control in both the horizontal and the vertical.

Next was the TFM122-M monitors, an excellent chance for our attendees to get up and walk around the room to hear their range. The room also listened to the TCS122, one of Turbosound's most popular install speakers. The last product demonstrated during this time was the new Liverpool TLX43. Ideal for smaller spaces that want a line array, this set up packed quite a punch.

Next up Tom Knesel, Senior Manager for Enterprise Commercial Installed Sound Sales, gave an overview of the Klark-Teknik DM8000 as well as how-to network to iQ speakers with Ultranet. The DM8000 is an advanced digital audio processor for installation applications with configurable DSP, audio networking and acoustic echo cancellation.

After the discussion on amps Chase McKnight, Midas Product Specialist, presented on the Midas Console family. Starting with the Midas M32R, Chase went through everything from specs to capabilities. Chase also touched on the PRO series, including PRO 1PRO 2, and PRO X. One of the most interesting facts about the PRO series is that when you purchase one, you receive 24/7 phone support from the MIDAS team. Sunday morning problems at 8 am? Not a problem, call and a MIDAS specialist will answer to help you troubleshoot.

During lunch, customers were able to speak with the MUS!C Group factory specialists and get some hands on time with the products. The MIDAS PRO X got quite a lot of attention and Chase gave an excellent impromptu presentation for some interested attendees.

After lunch, attendees reconvened back in the showroom. After another round of listening to the first session's loudspeakers with additional tracks, Lloyd Kinkade introduced the Liverpool TLX84 Line Array, the big brother of the TLX43 that was shown earlier in the day. With that, the room moved outside for a live demonstration of it's power. For a peak to what it sounded like, check out our facebook page for the livestream we did.

Georgia Film Industry and the Freedom of Digital Wireless

Filming is big business, and few places showcase that more than the state of Georgia. "The Hollywood of the South" or "Yallywood" are names attributed to a massive industry that had an economic impact on the state of $9.5 Billion in 2017 alone ( source ).  The industry in Georgia was boosted substantially by tax incentives introduced in 2002 and bolstered again in 2008. While we hear about the flashy movie stars and studio executives flying into the Atlanta Airport and spending money, we don't often think of the economic impact that benefits established local companies. A great example of this is longtime Peachstate customer In Concert Productions.  In Concert Productions (ICP) is a production leader in the Atlanta, GA and Southeastern US markets. Founded in 1977, ICP’s core business has always been as a full-service audio company, serving Fortune 500 corporate, theatrical, and other industrial and special events. Film and TV credits include “Hollywood South” pr

While we can't gather together in large crowds inside, many organizations and local governments are finding ways to create Christmas cheer in a COVID safe manner. Peachstate Audio customer Fusion Light & Sound was able to put together a festive atmosphere in Jacksonville at Seawalk Pavilion for Deck The Chairs , a nonprofit that focuses on fostering art and community in the area.  Deck The Chairs in Jacksonville, FL using dbTechnologies IG4T and JBL Control 28-1 for sound With sleek dbTechnologies  INGENIA IG4T  Active Column Arrays paired with VIO S118R Subwoofers on the stage, they were able to achieve far throwing sound in an unobtrusive manner from the stage. Hidden behind simple pop-up banners, it's hard to believe such strong sound could be achieved outdoors from such a small package.  Can you spot the db Technologies IG4T Columns?
