From The Archives: Spring Product Showcase Event

Recapping our Spring Product Showcase with Allen & Heath, QSC, Shure, and more!

On Thursday, April 19th HWPco and Peachstate Audio presented the Spring Product Showcase. The event was educational and hands-on featuring a masterclass in Allen & Heath mixing led by Kevin Madden.

The event was a full house, with plenty of folks arriving early to get some hands-on time with the consoles prior to the session. First up, Kevin Madden gave an overview of the Allen & Heath product offerings, as well as the history of the company and how the technology has progressed.

After the overview, Kevin had the attendees gather around the three consoles to practice with some hands-on time. The three consoles, two D-Live 5500 and one D-Live 3500, provided a unique opportunity for the entire class to follow along real time.

After an hour of time with the consoles, the lesson concluded and attendees broke for lunch. A lunch of BBQ from Sugar Hill Smokehouse was provided, and attendees had some time to network with each other.

After lunch there was time to speak directly with Kevin Madden and Anthony Myers of HWPCo. All three consoles were still available to practice with, and many people took advantage of this opportunity with some extended hands-on time. Kevin answered specific questions and did some one-on-one demos, while Anthony discussed new Shure Motiv products, QSC K.2 loudspeakers, Barco products, Hosa, and more.

Georgia Film Industry and the Freedom of Digital Wireless

Filming is big business, and few places showcase that more than the state of Georgia. "The Hollywood of the South" or "Yallywood" are names attributed to a massive industry that had an economic impact on the state of $9.5 Billion in 2017 alone ( source ).  The industry in Georgia was boosted substantially by tax incentives introduced in 2002 and bolstered again in 2008. While we hear about the flashy movie stars and studio executives flying into the Atlanta Airport and spending money, we don't often think of the economic impact that benefits established local companies. A great example of this is longtime Peachstate customer In Concert Productions.  In Concert Productions (ICP) is a production leader in the Atlanta, GA and Southeastern US markets. Founded in 1977, ICP’s core business has always been as a full-service audio company, serving Fortune 500 corporate, theatrical, and other industrial and special events. Film and TV credits include “Hollywood South” pr
