Next Level DJ Seminar Recap

On Thursday, March 8th Peachstate Audio hosted a DJ Seminar featuring manufacturers from Pioneer DJ, RCF, Sennheiser, and ADJ. This event was focused towards DJs who want to take their business to the next level by improving their skills through training and equipment knowledge.

To kick off the event, Steve Wingo of Sennheiser presented on Proper Gain Staging. This targeted a frequent issue that DJs run into, feedback and distortion.

After laying down the basics, Steve transitioned to the product presentation of the new XSW-D Wireless. These simple, easy to use sets essentially eliminate the need for cables using 2.4 GHz connections between a portable transmitter and receiver. For a DJ, the Vocal and XLR Base sets are particularly useful. For more information about this line of products, check out the quick videos below.

Next up was Chuck Dillingham from Freed Sales representing ADJ. Chuck covered some DMX and Wireless DMX basics for DJs, then transitioned into some product offerings. ADJ also has the mydmx Go Bridge that connects wirelessly to tablets that makes lighting control even easier. ADJ has recently acquired Eliminator Lighting, a great value solution for Mobile DJs. There was also an ADJ V2 Video Wall, a great piece of equipment to add for those who also sell video services.

After a break for lunch Jay Brannan of Pioneer DJ took the floor to present. Jay is a DJ himself, so he had some excellent tips for the audience as well as some tips on how to best utilize Pioneer DJ equipment. Jay covered the three controllers that he brought, and we have a video below of him comparing the DDJ-SX3 with the XDJ-RX2

In addition to controllers, Jay also spoke about some of the Pioneer DJ headphones. In the following video, he compares the HDJ-X10, HDJ-X5BT, and HDJ-X7

Last but not least, Justin Brock of RCF gave a presentation on some of the hottest loudspeakers on the market right now. While there was a wide array of products on display, the products that were best for Mobile DJs had priority during the demo. A hot item was the Portable Line Array J8 and JMIX8 Loudspeakers, and some of the attendees had already purchased them! These are a great satellite system setup that you can use without a mixer as the JMIX8 already has one built in. An especially useful tool for DJs is that you can bluetooth directly to them!

Justin also showed the brand new HD 15-A loudspeaker that had yet to launch in the States. It was an exclusive chance to see and hear these bad boys before their scheduled debut at the Mobile Beat DJ conference in Las Vegas the following week.

While those were the primary RCF loudspeakers featured, we also have a wide offering of products available to listen to in our showroom currently. Below is a snapshot of our "RCF corner" if you would like to come have a listen!

The first DJ Seminar at Peachstate was a big success and we would like to thank the manufacturers and customers who made it possible. Georgia Film Industry and the Freedom of Digital Wireless

Filming is big business, and few places showcase that more than the state of Georgia. "The Hollywood of the South" or "Yallywood" are names attributed to a massive industry that had an economic impact on the state of $9.5 Billion in 2017 alone ( source ).  The industry in Georgia was boosted substantially by tax incentives introduced in 2002 and bolstered again in 2008. While we hear about the flashy movie stars and studio executives flying into the Atlanta Airport and spending money, we don't often think of the economic impact that benefits established local companies. A great example of this is longtime Peachstate customer In Concert Productions.  In Concert Productions (ICP) is a production leader in the Atlanta, GA and Southeastern US markets. Founded in 1977, ICP’s core business has always been as a full-service audio company, serving Fortune 500 corporate, theatrical, and other industrial and special events. Film and TV credits include “Hollywood South” pr

An Outdoor Christmas Kickoff
